Dear Friends,
We are combining September and October updates into one newsletter. If you haven't seen the August update we encourage you to check it out.
September and October was a very busy and stressful time for us and we didn't think to take pictures of all that was going on. The Rocky Mt. House Ministerial came to the mission to hold their monthly meeting and it was a good time of fellowship and connecting with the pastors from Rocky. We had other visitors and events that we missed getting a picture also.
As we explained in our last update, Karen's neck has really improved and we want to send a special 'Thank You' to all who prayed for her. It was difficult for her to drive, so now this load has been relieved.
In the picture below, early September saw the demolition of our 'temporary' home that was built in 1986. Our thanks to our friend "Roy" from Drayton Valley for his hard work & equipment to do this for us! We look forward to spring time when we will begin construction of our new mission house. If you know anyone willing to come help with the build please let us know!!

A church here in Alberta took on a project to build a 'Guest Cabin'. It is on skids so it can be moved out of the way when we get our house built next year. The project was left to us to finish and we couldn't use any more of our building fund and materials on it so after we got the roof on it is left unfinished.

Our new teen room was added on in September! Here is a recent gathering of teens using it. They greatly appreciate it!

This picture shows the other end. The wood stove makes it toasty warm.

In October the Korean team from Calgary had a great youth meeting. They had a very effective object lesson with this craft that the teens responded to and learned a lot.

In this next picture the Korean team is working with a younger class.

The Korean teams are large and have a good student/teacher ratio, so the kids get lots of attention.

For many of the kids it is a real highlight for them and they love coming.

This is another Korean team that came to hold a youth group on the neighboring O'Chiese Reserve. So this picture is after it was over and they came to the mission to hold a debriefing and report on how it went. This shows how large the one team was. Between the two teams there were about 60 youth attended in this one day.

Last night the team came from the Caroline Nazarene Church and held our youth group. We had 14 teens attend.

In September the ladies rented a camp out in the mountains and held a ladies retreat. It was well attended and a highlight time for the ladies.

The summer turned out to be difficult to progress with our house building project, but we are in the position to start on the basement as soon as the weather opens up in the spring. Please pray we can have help come to work on this project. Please keep us in your prayers... In Jesus, Rodger & Karen Rinker.
